Articles of Faith

(Overview: Atumism is a monotheistic, dualistic, omnitheistic faith based on the innate morality within the divine spark of human souls from God)

▲ I believe in one omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, omnibenevolent, omniluminescent, incomprehensible, incorporeal, and transcendent God who created All. He has been known by many names, by many people over the millennia, though I know Him by the ancient name of Atum, the Creator of All.

▲ I believe humans are Atum’s children: the merging of his material creation and divine Light; and were born to live in his creation and be its caretakers.

▲ I believe Atum first created Divine Beings who inhabit the spiritual plane and attend to creation. Their story, and individual roles in creation cannot be fully known, nor is it necessary to know. All that is important is to be aware that the material world in which we live is dualistic and there is a constant struggle between Light and dark, right and wrong…good and evil, yet some day the Light of Atum will conquer the darkness once and for all. In the end, all that matters is choosing the Light (Atum) over darkness.

▲ I believe that knowledge of Atums existence may be discerned in numerous ways, though is deeply embedded into our very beings…for we are Of Him. Within us all is a need and longing which can only be assuaged by knowing and loving Him. Our souls do not belong to the earth, but to our Father, Atums’, land of A’aru (heaven).

▲ I believe that specific religious texts and rituals may be helpful in encouraging and advancing knowledge of Atum and the yearning for righteousness, but are ultimately unnecessary and contaminated by lowly human perception and ego, as well as dark forces with profound fondness for conflict and convolution. Atum is incomprehensible and any interpretation or explanation by us (His creation) of His Divine Will cannot be separated from the corruption, degradation, and dark forces of this dualistic material world in which we exist. Knowledge of Atum can be discovered within many forms of religion and truth is there for all to find. For when the truth is heard the soul is sparked with joy as Atum’s Light washes over their entire being. For truth sets us free, and Goodness brings us joy and peace, while evil brings only sadness, conflict, and chaos.

▲ I believe that after mortal death, if our souls are Light, we may return to the outstretched arms of Atum in A’aru, The Field of Reeds (heaven). If we could not escape our mortal coil we may yet live again in mortal form, though if a child of Atum has turned to evil so deeply that their spark has grown dark, blackened by evil forces,…where not even a tiny speck of Atums Light may be found, they may be sent to Duat (the Underworld) where they may be completely consumed by a divine being who feeds on darkness. Ultimately, only Atum can know a human’s soul, and only He is worthy to judge.

▲ I believe that Atum is as a clockmaker who set time into motion and watches with pride at its flow, beauty, and intricacy. Through us, His children, He is able to experience his Divine Creation, while remaining just outside of it, always watching and allowing it to continue. His Divine Attendants were tasked with its order and function…working to keep the cogs moving in precise synchronicity in this dualistic universe. We can not know all on such things. All we can know with certainty is that Atum is Love and Light. He is our Father, and we, His children. He loves us and His creation, and longs for us to also love and appreciate it. For we live on earth for a finite time in human form and should not worry on trying to know all or change all fate and providence. For all works for Good in the end. In the end…in the end, Light and Goodness will win!

▲ I believe much of our history has been lost to us and we are living in a dark age where the Light of Atum is shrouded and complicated by futile conflicts, complications, and convolutions. The ancients spoke of a time when the veil was down and Atum and His Divine Attendants lived alongside men, and there was no question of Atums existence and love for us, His children. We may never know what happened, for the past has been lost to us, yet it continues to speak to us through its remnants of truth, which our souls know to be true…that we are living in a time when religion, and God, have become complicated and convoluted. Where religion has become little more than a selfish endeavor for control and power over fate and other beings. Be wary of those who sell religion as self-betterment, or to gain favors or dominate existence…or that offer all the answers. No one knows All but Atum, and no one controls fate but Him. For no one is above Atum.

▲ I believe we should test all knowledge against the knowledge of Atums Goodness and Light and remember that although there may be divine insights from Atum, there are also Divine Beings, some working for Good and others for evil; and to also remember that human minds are fragile for they are of the earth and once something Divine comes to earth it becomes tied to its mortal corrupting state. A message heard can be changed into something almost indistinguishable after only a few ears, or after many years and forgotten moments of life on earth. Atum may be perfect, but humans are not. We have our Fathers Spark of Light within us, but we are also born of mortal bodies, and held down to the earth and subject to creation. Trust not the man who says he has all the answers or that Atum speaks directly through Him, for no man can know as Atum knows, and no man is above another in Atums eyes. For we are all His children.

▲ I believe that we can know with certainty that Atum exists, that there is a spiritual plane where His Divine Attendants exist, and that He is All-Light and All-Love, and we are His Divine children who should always choose Light and Love too. The need to be close with our Creator is so deeply ingrained that humans have longed to know All, which has led to the various religions we know of today. All religions contain some truth, but no one religion can offer All that is true, because all of them are formed by humans and warped by the corruptible world. Only Atum knows All that is true. All-truth is outside our reach, but basic truth can be found within by that small spark of Atum our Father which gave us life and thought…and is our very being. As the saying goes, “Let go, and Let God.” Do not try to fight what is, but rather find within it the beauty of Atum, and His great Love for you, and be at peace.
